Modern Day Missionary Biographies for Kids

Grab your imaginary backpack, explorers. Every episode of Modern Day Missionary Biographies for Kids takes young listeners somewhere real. Not a made-up place, and not long, long ago. These are true stories about people who are alive right now, in countries children can find on a map, doing things that are genuinely hard. Host John Crosley is the Executive Director of Oakseed Ministries International, and he knows these missionaries personally. He has sat in their homes, met the children they care for, and heard these stories firsthand. That is what makes the show different from a storybook: when John says the babies at Love Link are big kids now, probably about your age, he means it. Each episode runs about ten to fifteen minutes, with sound effects, music, a Mission Moment, and an Explorer Q&A. Kids come away having learned where a country is, what people eat there, how to say hello in another language, and what it looks like when someone keeps a promise that costs them something. There are free printable activities for every episode at the Explorer’s Hub, including a passport kids can stamp as they travel along with the show. Best for ages 6 to 11, and made to be listened to together.

True stories of real missionaries, told for kids. Every episode, host John Crosley takes young explorers to a real place to meet a real person who said yes to God: Sam and Julie Hawkins, who rescued babies in El Salvador; Gerson and Mariela, who kept that work going; and Hanna in Ethiopia, whom about two hundred kids call Big Sister. New stories each week, with free activity pages at missionsforkids.org. Grab your imaginary backpack and let's go!
